The Peoples Democratic Party has launched the compilation of its delegate list for the November 15-16 national convention in Ibadan, Oyo State, with Adamawa Governor Ahmadu Fintiri pledging a transparent process that guarantees a level playing field for all aspirants and upholds internal democracy.
Fintiri, chair of the National Convention Organising Committee, announced the step Monday at a Protocol Subcommittee meeting in Abuja, reaffirming the party's dedication to openness.
"We are fully committed and will not leave any stone unturned," he said, assuring that all form purchasers will face screening absent disqualifying issues. "Go test your popularity in the field—it's true democracy; the majority will triumph."
The governor, a long-time PDP leader, highlighted the surge in enthusiasm: "Even our inaugural meeting wasn't this full—it shows life returning to the party." He called for sacrifices despite "noise," vowing to unveil National Working Committee leaders "of worth" to steer PDP forward.
Fintiri underscored PDP's stature as sub-Saharan Africa's largest party, promising exhaustive efforts for success.
Plateau Governor Caleb Mutfwang, Protocol Subcommittee chair, emphasized logistics: "Our job is in Ibadan—arrive before delegates to ensure seamless coordination."
The convention, the first since 2021, seeks a new executive amid opposition efforts to challenge President Bola Tinubu's APC.
